4 Tips To Help You Shift Your Mindset And Start Building Wealth
Thoughts are things, and what you focus on expands. If you grew up with money messages like, money is bad, money is the root of all evil, rich people are bad you probably subconsciously repel money! If you grew up with those messages you have also probably struggled with holding on to money and building wealth for your entire life! The good news is you can reprogram you mindset. I was reading a book authored by a friend of mine in the industry and he had an exercise that required you to say I LOVE MONEY out loud! So, I’m going to ask you guys to say that OUT LOUD well. Did that feel uneasy, a little uncomfortable? I know when I first said that it did. When I first started this business there were so many people around me that used to say "all you think about is money", "all y’all do is talk about money", yadda yadda ya and those messages in a way made me feel bad. So I had to really embrace the fact that yes I love money and I love what it can do for my family and others. If you struggle with that, I would suggest writing out a few ways that money can help or others such as giving more, tithing more, private school or sports camps for your kids, global mission trips etc. Listen, money won’t buy happiness but being broke certainly won’t either! Money like water seeks its own level. Meaning if you are used to making $40,000 per year and you launch a network marketing business and start making 100,000 year, in due time you will be right back down to 40,000 per year if you don’t develop a six-figure money mindset in regards to your financial literacy. Now I’m not going to lie to y’all, I balled out my first year in this business. We were making more money than we had ever seen in one month, let alone the year! But my values quickly came back inline to our long term vision which was to create enough money through our businesses that after invested in different areas, we could live off the interest and not even have to touch the money. Our Network marketing business is the cash machine. Now I know everyone always talks about becoming debt free and you should want to get there as soon as possible. But becoming debt free brings you to zero, and hopefully your focus after that is building wealth! There are a couple principles that you have to understand if your goal is to build wealth.
1).There is no such thing as disposable income-This means be intentional with every extra dollar you have after your debt is paid off for the month. Now I like nice things just as much as the next person, but would you feel better carrying an $1000 bag with nothing in the bank, or having $1000 in the bank? They both boost your self-confidence but one is temporary, right?
2).Take your mind off debt and focus on wealth- We are getting rid of the scarcity mindset in 2018. We are living in abundance. If you don’t do this already set up your bills on online payments so you don’t have to see them often.
3).Pay yourself first- I suggest a wealth This is a separate bank account that you will contribute to your future. No emergency expenses will come out of this account this is not a rainy day fund this is a one way door for our future investments. You will watch this account grow daily, weekly, monthly. Make wealth building automatic (i.e. automatic payments) because iif you have to think about it you likely won’t do it!
4).If you are building a network marketing business part-time, pay off all your debt every month from your JOB and contribute any surplus to the wealth account. If you’re building a network marketing business FT, same rules but also ensure that you are also setting aside for Uncle Sam. He will find you when his money is due, lol.
You see being poor is a mindset but being BROKE is temporary. A lot of you just haven’t caught up to your money yet. However if you have launched a home based business like us, and decided you want to create an extra income or even replace your income, you are on the right track to getting ahead and building wealth.
